Steady Circuits, a solo project from New Mexico/Colorado musician Mike Marchant, will release its debut album “…of One of Many Worlds” on June 25.

During his first few years of recording and performing, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Marchant was named “one of Denver’s most admired songwriters and performers” by the Denver Post and “one of Denver’s most celebrated songwriters” by Westword. The AV Club Denver wrote that Marchant’s early projects “demonstrated a lackadaisical mastery of dreamy, druggy indie folk.” In 2018, Marchant returned from a long hiatus with an atmospheric indie rock project called Lightning Cult. When the pandemic slowed progress on his collaborative project, Marchant returned to solo work, surprise-releasing Steady Circuits’ “One of Many Ends…” EP in September 2020.

Sonically and lyrically, Steady Circuits’ new album picks up where its predecessor left off. “It’s space pop, if that’s a thing,” says Marchant, “…made with analog synthesizers and hardware electronics, loud tube amps, and minimal editing and processing. The arrangements are dense and intricate, but the individual performances are loose and raw. My goal was to make pop music that is authentic and human. The record continues a story about the value of connection and communication during uncertain times."

“…of One of Many Worlds” was written, recorded and mixed at Cloud Command, Marchant’s small home studio. Denver-based label Snappy Little Numbers Quality Audio Recordings will release limited-edition cassettes and CDs, while Marchant’s Cloud Command Sound imprint handles the record’s digital release.
